Sally Shaw is an NYC-based, Texas born-and-raised, interdisciplinary artist. Winning Playbill’s 2021 Search for a Star Competition kick-started her performing career before graduating with a BFA in Musical Theater from Ithaca College in 2022.
Broadway: Gypsy (2024 Revival) starring Audra McDonald and directed by George C. Wolfe. Regional: La Cage Aux Folles as Anne (Barrington Stage Company) directed by Mike Donahue and choreographed by Paul McGill; The Wizard of Oz as Dorothy (Cortland Rep); The Snow Queen as Greta (Cherry Arts) in which she was nominated for a 2019 S.A.L.T. award. NYC: Sasha Velour’s Nightgowns: The Musical as a Butch Stagehand (Connelly Theatre); a reading of The Humans as Brigid Blake (Sea Dog Theater); 2 self-written and produced solo shows at Greenroom 42, receiving accolades from Broadway World alongside music director Jeff Theiss; She was also featured singing "The Very Thought of You" as the Voice of Janine in Sea Dog Theater's Tuesday's with Morrie starring Tony Award-Winner Len Cariou (2024 Off-Broadway Alliance Best Revival Winner).
She has been profoundly shaped as a person and artist by working closely with Brooklyn's grooviest band Sammy Rae & the Friends and Rupaul's Drag Race Season 9 Winner Sasha Velour. She is the Company Manager for Sea Dog Theater and is proud to have seen them through their first full production, Tuesdays with Morrie, landing them a front page feature story in the New York Times in the spring of 2024.
